Este componente, conocido como SRL, es 100 veces m\u00e1s delgado que un cabello humano y est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para detener la fuga t\u00e9rmica.<\/p>\n<p>#TECNOLOG\u00cdA | Las bater\u00edas de iones de litio, utilizadas en m\u00f3viles y auto el\u00e9ctricos, tienen un problema bien conocido: la fuga t\u00e9rmica, que puede provocar incendios. Este fen\u00f3meno se desencadena cuando el \u00e1nodo y el c\u00e1todo de la bater\u00eda entran en contacto, provocando un cortocircuito que genera un aumento dr\u00e1stico de temperatura, alcanzando hasta los 1.000 grados cent\u00edgrados en segundos.<\/p>\n<p>Para combatir este peligro, los ingenieros de LG han creado un material llamado Capa Reforzada de Seguridad (SRL, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), que act\u00faa como una barrera para evitar que la fuga t\u00e9rmica ocurra. Este componente tiene un grosor de solo un micr\u00f3metro, lo que lo hace 100 veces m\u00e1s delgado que un cabello humano. La SRL se coloca entre el c\u00e1todo y una l\u00e1mina de aluminio dentro de la bater\u00eda, bloqueando r\u00e1pidamente cualquier reacci\u00f3n que pueda desencadenar un incendio.<\/p>\n<p>El SRL no afecta el funcionamiento normal de la bater\u00eda. Permite que la electricidad fluya libremente mientras la temperatura se mantenga dentro de los l\u00edmites seguros. Sin embargo, cuando la temperatura alcanza entre 90\u00ba y 130\u00ba, la SRL se activa. El material reacciona al calor modificando su estructura molecular, lo que suprime el flujo de corriente y evita el sobrecalentamiento.<\/p>\n<p>Este material es extremadamente sensible a los cambios de temperatura. LG ha destacado que por cada grado que aumenta la temperatura, la resistencia el\u00e9ctrica del SRL crece 5.000 ohmios. Adem\u00e1s, cuando la bater\u00eda se enfr\u00eda, la SRL vuelve a su estado original, permitiendo que la bater\u00eda siga funcionando normalmente.<\/p>\n<p>LG tambi\u00e9n ha realizado pruebas de impacto en bater\u00edas equipadas con SRL. En estas pruebas, las bater\u00edas resistieron impactos significativos sin incendiarse, un factor crucial en el caso de los autos el\u00e9ctricos. En un 70% de los casos, las bater\u00edas protegidas por SRL no mostraron signos de fuego tras un impacto. En los casos donde s\u00ed hubo llamas, estas se extinguieron r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p>\n<p>La compa\u00f1\u00eda ya est\u00e1 planeando la producci\u00f3n en masa de este material innovador.
